Although the Salver is the main prize, deep down everyone is trying desperately to avoid the Hasbin - a chrome bin version of the wooden spoon.
Played in a stableford format over 81 holes
A short report may appear here , perhaps with the odd photo.
In 2011:
The winner was: unbelievably James Barton (me) taking the Salver with 40 pts, 34 pts and 31 pts over the 3 rounds with Mark Yates being the proud new owner of the Has-bin'. Not easy playing off scratch with a 'poorly elbow'. Best gross rounds went to Me/ Scotty both with a 72 at Trevose.
2012 Result....
Steve G.B Scott wins the salver!
Scotty shoots an impressive score including a one under gross at Fulford to take the Salver on his 30th birthday! Well done Steve!! Monty 'wins' the bin losing out by just one single shot over the 81 holes. The popular choice Steve Essex magics an up and down out of the gorse on Ganton's 18th to avoid the has-bin, (although his luck did not stay with him!).
Unbelievable weather again, a fantastic 3 days of golf and the hospitality shown by Seaton Carew GC was exceptional, even if we did win their Sat evening quiz...!
