As you stand on the tee imagine you are a jockey as the two furlongs ahead was the view they got as they raced up the straight in the days this was a racecourse before it became a Golf Course in 1894. Now put your golfing head back on and look ahead to the distant flag. An accurate drive will leave you in a good position for your approach shot but anything either side of the fairway and you'll be in trouble as the gorse, trees, bunkers and rough will cause you problems. Having avoided the bunkers and reached the green remember that it has a slight upward slope front to back and care is needed when picking your line.
