The Scratch team has been playing in the Midlands Scratch Golf League since entering in Division 8 in 2008. We were delighted to gain successive promotions in the first two seasons and are currently playing in MSGL Div 6. There is healthy competition within the club to represent the team as well as a strong sense of camaraderie between all. We often have 'team' weekends away around the country playing some of the best courses available as well as enjoying the local hospitality and entertainment on offer.
We are very grateful to our new sponsors, Holbrooks motors for providing us with our team kit.
The pages will be updated regularly with results, match reports, any changes to fixtures and perhaps even the odd photo. -

The TeamAdam Law (Captain)
Course record holder!! (Gross 66. - 5 under par). Matchplay fighter not intimidated by anyone. Capable of some very good rounds when he gets it going…unless it’s to the bar.Spurs fan. 4 times club champion
James Barton (Legend/ Champ)Great posture, great swing, straight hitter, and great touch and is a far better player than handicap suggests. (Also, writes this web site!) Somehow got nicknamed 'Wafty', possibly due to the 'Els-like' ease and rhythm of his swing.
4 time and current 'Club Champion'. Coventry City fan.
Dan Stanley (Spud)
Member of the NWGC green-keeping team. Recently became a Liverpool fan (!?) and always the optimist with his game. Yawn! Occasional sufferer of ’dehydration’ on the big day. Can hit a massive ball.2 times club champion. Coventry City fan.
Rob Eardley (Oaf)
Big Rob loves to wear pink and an apple-based drink but has to be in bed by a certain time, hence nickname of 'Early-Eardley'. Capable of beating much lower h'cap players despite his ‘agricultural’ swing. Always feels the love.Coventry City fan
Chris BrownNew member and formal County player who has settled in very well within the ST culture. Has already bought more rounds than Adam and Joe combined. Looking forward to seeing his points being delivered. Next Club Champion?
Nigel Paul
Mr Consistent, despite the many versions of Nigel. Great rhythmic swing and as such a great matchplay record. Solid, with no weak areas to his game.
Steve Scott (G.B)
Silly northern accent and loves gravy and ‘swiping right’. Still the best player I have seen at NWGC in my time.1 time club champion. Everton fan.
Neil Hopkins (Hoppy)
Loves talking and the bants…especially during your swing. His consistent and controlled ‘draw’ works wonders. Current ‘player’s player of the season’.Coventry City fan
Ross Alexander (Beeeef)
Our 'social secretary', loves a pint and basketball. So laid back, you can never tell if he's 4 up or down. Works for the enemy. Might well be absent from all golf and social activities for the next 18 years!Coventry City fan
Steve Law
Another straight hitter with a superb record. Never going to be flustered and will always give a good game!Spurs fan
Stuart Peck (Pecky)
Stuart spends more money on lessons than his membership. Great improvements to his game in
last couple of years have forced a slash in his odds to be club champ. One day…
Paul Foster (Fozz)
New member, expecting great things despite his height disadvantage!
Jack Carwardine (Sticky)
Youngster, capable of great golf on his day.
Joe Gardner (Juice)
Dresses like the top footballer he says he is. Six pack he loves to show…more than he does
getting to the bar! Flat swing, great putter!
Coventry City fan
Mike Steele
Never misses a fairway and has a great tempo. Experience is on his side for this former scratch
player!
Keith Evans (Ting Tong)
This post has been deleted as he is deemed to be inappropriate!
Matt Smith
Hits it hard, very hard! He usually finds it. More than capable of getting the job done!
Coventry City fan
