Club History

Located just outside Meriden, in the centre of England, with easy access from Coventry and Birmingham. Convenient for visitors to the NEC who may like a round before visiting an exhibition or show.

The course is well kept and the greens are in good condition all year round. Rightly renowned for its excellent drainage, the course remains open when most other courses are closed due to inclement weather. The long par fours and fives will test all your golfing skills and require fortitude and patience in order to score well.

A small but very welcoming, homely and friendly club that is unique in that it runs an honesty bar maintained by the members.

The Club is a private members club and was established in 1894. Originally the site of Packington Racecourse the course has over many years undergone many developments. The current nine hole layout dates back over 70 years. In 1998 changes were made to the bunker positions and other features to reflect advances in golf equipment design. Additionally extensive tree planting has taken place ensuring an even greater challenge as the trees mature. The latest development was in 2010 when the course saw major improvement by the addition of many new tees making it an 18 tee nine hole layout.

The course is built on sand and gravel which affords excellent drainage allowing the course to remain open all year round even in conditions of extreme wet weather. The greens are of traditional construction and have provided consistently good putting surfaces over many years.
