The Howitt Bowl, the Clubs most prestigious competition, played over 36 holes, took place on the 20th August and what a day it was. Conditions were perfect in the morning, however the wind started to rear its head in the afternoon and with the course being firm and bouncy it started to play tough. Coventry Hearsalls Tom Ibbertson was the winner of the Howitt Bowl with a fantastic score of 69 - 73- level par with our own Dean Sparrow finishing 2nd on 76 - 68 - 2over. The Baker Salver was taken by Nuneatons Steve Frearson with a combined total of 142 nett. The course was set up brilliantly and thanks must go to John Ganley and his team.
